'Gettin' Pumped Up' for the Super Bowl Music

I think it can be said there's proof you are a real team fan when you own one of the teams music CD collections. In honor of my team, the Green Bay Packers, going to the Superbowl I will be playing this one today along with a whole mess of my other great rock and roll favorites. If you follow my blog you know what somewhere in this post will be my favorite all time rocker who just announced a new tour.

Notice I decided its time to change the format of my headings. I will use the album name or a theme for post names instead of the date. I realized a while ago I didn't have time to post daily but I will try to commit to at least once a week so you can follow my blog.

Today's music:

'Green Bay Packers Greatest Hits Vol ll'
2000
Oldies mix with historical sound bites
Love the Martha and The Vandellas cut 'No Where to Run'.
Let's get this party started!!

Bruce Springsteen
'The River'
1980
Rock
CD
Favorite cuts are 'Got a Crush on You', 'The River'
Can't say anything about this classic album that hasn't already been said.
Go get yours off the shelf and give it a listen.

Fleetwood Mac
'Mr. Wonderful'
1968
Blues Rock
Side One 'Rollin' Man' and 'Dust My Broom'
In anticipation of the Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks concert at the Hollywood Bowl I pulled out a Fleetwood Mac LP acquisition I haven't yet listened to yet.  The cover is as humorously unique as all other Fleetwood Mac covers. The outside art is a full wrapped photo front to back. Among the funny quotes from the interesting inside cover art  is one that says 'Ramblings by John ...and biscuit peel'.

Then there is the music. The music is raw bluesy rock and roll at its best! I was quite surprised by the feel of this album. The band has in its roots former members of the Bluesbreakers so it is easy to see where their first influeneces lie. This album is much different than their later music where they formed a more unique sound that was all their own mainly due to their addition of Lindsey Buckingham to the band and the addition of female singers Christine McVie and later Stevie Nicks.

and last but now least for my blog today....my favorite artist with some inspriational songs for my team.
Can't wait to hear if he will come on tour to SoCal this year in the recently announced tour.

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
'Like a Rock'
1986
Rock
Side One 'Like a Rock'
I think that sums it up nicely.
Go PACK GO!
